Curing Writer's Block

By Leanne Pearson
As a songwriter, we’ve all suffered from the excruciating pain of writers block. There’s no doctor in the world that has yet found a cure! But there is a game you can play to help encourage your brains creativity naturally!
What you’ll need:
-a hat
-paper
-a pen
Start by cutting up several pieces of paper into about 4” x 2” pieces, or any size you want! You’ll need anywhere between 10-20 small pieces of paper.
Get your friends and family involved! Ask people to write down a random word on a piece of paper, fold it up and put it in the hat.
Pull a piece of paper out of the hat and write a song about that word!
Each day task yourself with writing one song! You may not produce a number one hit as you navigate through this game, but you will have fun and add the magic back into your songwriting!
One day I pulled out the word “Cat!” I ended up with my beloved song “Caturday”!
Sometimes when you play this hat game, you might surprise yourself with a new level of creativity! Have fun and let your imagination run wild!
