Rick Rose Passes
Singer/songwriter Rick Rose passed away July 14, 2024 in Niagara Falls. He was 64.
Born November 14, 1959 in Niagara Falls, Rick Rose was a long-time key figure in the Niagara Falls, Ontario music scene nd was founder of the Niagara Institute of Music/Arts. Rick Rose was a staff songwriter for Sony Music and Warner Tamerlane. He wrote the theme song for Orion Film’s “Rude Awakening", and his songs have been recorded by Canadian Country artists Doc Walker (“Dreaming Out Loud”) and Robyn Scott ("Austin").
In 2000 he released the album "Songs From The Studio B Sessions". The album features his songs co-written with Irish-born Canadian-bred songwriter Naoise Sheridan, as well as notable American songwriters Desmond Child, Tom Douglas, Marty Dodson, Monty Powell, Dave Gibson, Jim Steinman.
Song titles included " Wichita", " The Greatest Train Ride", "Restless Hearts", "Saturday Night In A Sunset Town".
The recordings were produced by Rick Rose with various co-producers and recorded in Nashville.
