After taking north Ontario by storm in 2024, rising Canadian twang rockers Small Town Bad are taking a step back from their usual brand of smokey saloon tall tales to release the band’s first ever love song "Highway 57" on all major streaming platforms.
Set to drop at midnight on September 13th 2024, "Highway 57" evokes feelings of cavalier lovers heading nowhere in particular, watching sunsets turn to sunrises, frozen in a never ending circle of summertime-love. The band reminisces on past love and the memories made driving down the titular "Highway 57", located outside of Blackstock, Ontario.
“The song has always been a favourite of our Southern Ontario fans, especially those around the Durham region,” says songwriter Mitch Tones. “I was a naive young man when I wrote the song, feeling I knew much about the subject of love. Turns out, I had a lot left to learn. Looking back, I choose to sing about the good times, and carry the lessons about relationships I learned along the way. I’m very excited to be releasing Highway 57, and hope to make my hometown folks who live along the highway proud.”
